im Dunford has been helping his clients resolve important family matters since 1979.
He received his legal training as a member of the first class of the Faculty of Law of the University of Victoria, graduating in 1978. He has practiced Family Law in Victoria continuously since 1979.

Tim has been a member of the Victoria Collaborative Family Law Group since 2008

Their approach is a critical tool in resolving the issues that arise from marriage breakdown, and reflects his belief that every effort should be invested in resolving disputes before resorting to Court proceedings. But, sometimes Court is required and, in those cases, Tim brings strong experience and judgement.

Tim’s practice focuses on the following areas:

  • Parenting arrangements (including guardianship, parenting responsibilities and child support)
  • Spousal support
  • Division of family property and debt

Tim has served the community on numerous boards and organizations over his years of practice including:

  • Member of the Central Saanich Police Board 1987 – 1992
  • Parent Leader in senior roles in School District No. 63 (Saanich)
  • Parent member of the governing Council of the former B.C. College of Teachers 2003 – 2010
  • Elected School Trustee (Central Saanich) in the Saanich School District since 2011

Tim has been married for many years to a health care professional and they have three grown children. His interests include summers and watersports at the lake, cycling, motorcycling, all manner of cars and vehicles, gardening, reading, politics and history.
